Item Description
Remember when you brought those old jagged boards back to life. The WEN 13 in. Benchtop Thickness Planer repurposes rough and worn wood for an exceptionally smooth finish. The powerful 15 Amp motor provides up to 30,000 cuts per minute at a 26 ft. per minute feed rate. Plane boards up to 13 in. W and 6 in. thick with ease. The handy depth adjustment knob varies each pass to take off anywhere from 0 to 1/8 of an inch. The 2.5 in. and 4 in. dust ports remove chips and sawdust from the workpiece while the depth stop presets help prevent you from planing off too much material. This package also includes height-adjustable infeed and outfeed tables to limit snipe while providing extra support to your workpiece during planing. Measuring in at 63 lbs. and 24 in. x 28.25 in. x 20 in. (with a 23 in. x 15.1 in. footprint), this unit can be easily moved around the shop using the onboard rubber-grip handles. Definitely lives up to its reviews. This is my first encounter with a planer, and I am very happy with my purchase. The planer is easy to operate without much of a learning curve. It has worked very well on mostly 2x4 pine in making cornhole board frames. It leaves a very smooth finish which has almost eliminated the need for sanding. It is pretty hefty weight wise so a dedicated work station is a plus.

The planer came in a timely manner but the table took an extra week to get here. Shipped from California to Kentucky. Everything arrived in good shape. The table had to be assembled but that was fairly straight forward. It was a couple of weeks before I used the planer. I dressed up some ruff cut boards for my son. The planer worked very well and was easy to use. The three blade system seemed to give it more cutting power. I am very pleased with my purchase and only time will tell if it stays that way. I would recommend this product.

This planer was easy to set up right out of the box. Adjustments are very easy. This planer left black marks all over the wood I was sending through it. A quick cleaning of the infeed and out feed tables and a good coat of paste wax fixed that issue.

I bought the Wen planer about a month ago. I wasted no time and put it to test on some old oak boards I had. It was loud, but worked like a champ. When I was done, the boards looked like brand new oak, and I built a piece of furniture with it. Very satisfied!

Wow, this thing works well. I was concerned as I do not have a lot of experience with this brand. Powers through as long as you do not try and take too much off at a time. You have to be ready when a long piece comes out the back as it can sit with tail end in blades and continue to cut.

Depth gauge is not what you might expect

So this is a great alternative to the DeWalt Planer, which is really the only other quality option with high cut rate and 3 blades.However, there is a depth limiter on the sides of the depth gauge for pieces wider than 6". The depth limiter restricts boards wider than 6" to 1/32" cut per pass. This makes a big difference for those who like to start with a few deep passes and then clean it up at the end. Otherwise it seems to be a nice planer.

Machine has been used at least once a week for the past two months, by my son, - he builds custom skateboards. Zero operational problems, up to this point, & it produces a very nice planed finish on his boards. The planer works very well, and the ability to adjust cut depth is easy and accurate. I've found the boards can get bound up inside if you are being too aggressive with the cutting depth, but overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.
