    Description

Set of six .38 Long Colt snap-caps. This cartridge was developed from the .38 Short Colt and became the US Army's standard pistol caliber in 1892.  Paired with the M1892 New Army revolver it saw service in the Spanish American War, the Philippine-American War, and was brought back out for WWI.   This cartridge was quickly determined to be underpowered and caused the US military to reissue many of the older .45 Colt and Schofield pistols.  It was eventually replaced by the M1909 .45, which was practically identical to the old .45 Colt round.  Even with its poor performance, due to the shortages of WWI, some were brought out of storage and issued during World War One.
Properly sized and seated. Available with spent primers in, holes drilled in the cases, empty primer pockets, or rubber inserts added to the primer pockets.
Great for safely function checking, as an addition to your western re-enactment kit, or display with your unique piece of US military history.
    Thanks for looking!
