    The Powermatic 50, PM50, is one of the most desirable vintage 6" jointers out there. This is a helical cutter head, manufactured by WGM Tool Works, to replace the stock traditional steel cutters. Each head features 4 rows of cutters for a total of ~28 (already installed on the cutterhead).  Each cutter, or carbide insert, is solid carbide and will out last your steel knives by a good margin. Each insert also has four cutting sides so just rotate the one side that gets dull and your are ready to plane again.
