Katya Ironworks presents the WR510 DRO (digital readout) Precision Mount. This device allows you to rigidly couple your WR510 DRO to your DW735 or DW735X planer. It is precision CNC machined, in the USA, with USA made billet aircraft grade aluminum, and comes with top quality steel socket hardware. This is a bolt-on upgrade. No holes to drill on your planer or DRO. Once you properly install and calibrate the system your WR510 to your DW735/X, you will be able to consistently hold thicknesses on your planed woods to a thousandth. And the best part; it will be repeatable. The DRO remembers the calibration digitally, and our mount will remember it mechanically. Next time you come back, or change height, the cuts will be exact. The very first one we made is still keeping first calibration after years of use.
WR510 has a limited battery life. When your batteries are dead, simply repeat the simple 2 minute calibration procedure. If you
damage/replace/sharpen/change/swap your blades,
you may also need to recalibrate.

OK, WHY DO I WANT THIS THING?
It is impossible to make repeatable precision cuts on your DW735 planer using the sticky-back ruler it came with. It is like driving a Bugatti with carriage wheels. It will waste your expensive hardwoods going in and out of calibration with vibration, costing you time, material, and electricity in unnecessary test cuts you have to make every time. Enter the Wixey WR510 DRO retrofit. Right idea. Wrong execution. DROs are only as precise as they are mounted rigid. Yet the WR510 comes with generic thin sheet metal brackets. That is not how you want to mount a DRO onto a 92 lb machine with a 20000 rpm motor and try shaving 1/8" pieces off of walnut or hickory. The DRO will bend from the body, negating all the benefits of having a DRO.
Katya Ironworks developed the rigid mount you need. Precision CNC milled out of billet aluminum, it securely holds onto your machine using six steel socket bolts.
And it securely clamps the DRO on its flat milled surface for ultimate precision.
Thicker than your planer's factory casting, it is designed to hold calibration and survive daily life in the wood shop.
