    Description

    Professionally manufactured, 'key inserts' f
    or your MechBoard64
(a mechanical keyboard for the Commodore 64)
MechBoard64 is an ultrahigh quality mechanical keyboard alternative to the aging Commodore 64 keyboard.
It can use a wide variety of mechanical key switch types, like those from CherryMX or Gateron, to achieve the exact keyboard feel you've been looking for, fr
om smooth and linear, to audibly clicky, to highly responsive and tactile.
MechBoard64 is hand assembled using a custom aluminum frame and printed circuit board, which were both designed by
    MtnBuffalo (Breadbox64) to
fit perfectly into either the original 'breadbin style' case or the newer C64c 'wedge style' case.
    MechBoard64 is compatible with
    all
of the original C64 motherboards that have been produced from the long board series (e.g., assy 250407, 250425, 250466, etc.), through to the later generation "short boards" (e.g. 250469).
Mechboard64 also works well with many of the newer "reproductions" and "re-implementations", such as the Ultimate 64, the SixtyClone, the "DIY Chris" 250407, the "Bwack" 250407, etc.

    What's included here:
    A set of
    professionally fabricated
set of "key Inserts" for the MechBoard64, which enable your mechanical key switches to fit into standard C64 key caps (see photos)
These inserts are fully compatible with the mechanical key switches on
    both
    the original
    Mechboard64 v1.06
    and the latest
    "Light Mod Edition" v1.07
    These are made using a
Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) Polymide 12
    process
    ,
which is a high end, durable Nylon Plastic, with
    excellent
    mechanical properties.
These are MUCH STRONGER and more resilient than the standard PLA or ABS filaments used by standard 3D Printers
Additional parts are required to complete this build,
    which are not included here*
    :
A professionally fabricated custom printed circuit board (PCB), based on the the design from MtnBuffalo
