This CF card will work in Tandy and IBM and compatible systems. The CF card comes pre-configured for Tandy systems. If you don't own a Tandy system simply type:
NOTANDY
at the DOS prompt and the CF card will reconfigure itself for IBM and compatible systems. The hard drive menu will update and all Tandy related files will be removed from the CF card to reclaim the space.
Picture 12 shows the directory listing for the 256MB card in my other auction. This card has identical contents except that, of course, this card has MUCH more free space available. Only 100MB of the available 2GB is used.
NOTE:
All of the games with setup programs have been configured for Tandy computer graphics. The menu now includes the setup programs to make reconfiguring the games easy. The rest of the games either ask for computer type at startup, auto-detect, or are fixed to CGA/EGA/VGA. The menu points out which games require EGA/VGA (see pictures).

The hard drive menu has been reorganized for easier navigation

This diskette when booted will automatically set up a new CF card for you. Now you can add more CF cards to your system without having to worry how it's done. The option to create the diskette is right in the menu.

Why did I create these?
On every retro computing site I visit there are many people asking how to get CF cards to work as hard drives in retro PC and XT computers. Even though knowledgeable users try to help I've noticed novices soon give up trying because they don't understand the technical terms and procedures. There's a number of reasons for this:
Used CF cards are often defective or incompatible with XTIDE controllers.
Novices try using modern CF cards. Older PATA (IDE) CF cards MUST be used.
Many CF cards require DISKPART to wipe them clean.
Most CF cards need a Master Boot Record Created (MBR) before use.
Different versions of DOS require different partitioning schemes.
Trying to set up a CF card in a CF card reader on modern systems almost never works.
It's best to use REAL PC/XT hardware. Hence, my "Tandy Factory".
The list goes on and on. Enough to make the novice just give up.
I did the hard part!
I use my "Tandy factory" to create each and every CF card. This ensures 100% compatibility because I used the pickiest XTIDE controller you can find, the Monotech 8-bit XT-IDE. This controller requires 100% PATA compatible CF cards. I've found that around 60% of the used CF cards I purchase actually work, the others are either defective or incompatible.
I've taken the guess-work out of the equation.
How to use these cards
You'll either need to have, or purchase, an XTIDE controller for your PC or XT system. There are many to choose from on eBay and other merchants. I've included a few pictures of the ones I recommend and any accompanying CF to IDE adapters that may be needed.
What I guarantee
I guarantee these CF cards will work in 99% of modern XTIDE controllers like the Monotech or Lo-Tech controllers and many other XTIDE controllers found on eBay.
What I will not guarantee
I DO NOT
guarantee these to work in original 8-bit XTIDE controllers from the 80's and 90's. Most (if not all) of these original XTIDE controllers had a 42MB hard drive size limit.
I can't guarantee that these cards will work correctly in your AT class computer (80286 - Pentium 233MHz MMX).
If you intend to use one of these cards in your computer with a built-in IDE controller it may give you issues. I have a Pentium 233 MMX clone and IBM 486DX4/100 that boots and behaves very nicely with every card size I create. However, I have a Compaq 486/66 that hate's these cards with a passion, so you never know.
If your card gives you issues
If you have issues I am more than willing to help resolve them.
If the issue can't be resolved and it's due to my card being defective I'll give a full refund. If the issue is caused by trying to use a controller other than an XTIDE (such as a built-in controller) then I'll still issue a refund, you'll just need to pay shipping back to me.

The Smartwatch driver (SMWCLOCK) works with the original Tandy Smartwatch modules as well as Cybernetic Systems new Smartwatch+ modules.
The mouse driver (CTMOUSE) is very small and works with serial and PS/2 mice. It's actually the mouse driver that comes with FreeDOS and is used by nearly every retro-PC enthusiast.
