  • Condition: Condition is good for a 40 year old device, but there are marks and scratches on the unit. Some scratches show signs of potential corrosion, but no bubbling or paint flaking exists. Discoloration is seen on the top by the front seam.

    Description

    This is a functional Commodore CBM 4040 dual floppy disk drive with an IEEE-488 interface, serial G1011568. This unit is designed to be used with Commodore PET and CBM models, including the 2000, 3000, 4000, 8000, 9000, and CBM-II. It can also be compatible with newer Commodore models with an IEEE-488 addon interface, but probably of limited use there.
    Comes with:
    * The CBM 4040 unit
    * IEEE-4888 D-Shell to Card Edge cable for Commodore computers
    * Original manual
    This unit has had a basic surface cleanup, powers on without any errors, and responds to directory commands. Further testing was not done as I don't have any disks on hand, so the drives themselves may require alignment after this much time. If you would like more pictures, please contact me.
