Vintage DAVIS & WELLS JOINTER
44” Bed 6” Blades
1 HP General Electric Motor
On rollers
From my father’s workshop.
Last used in the 70s – worked well – and was put away in working order.
Has been in dry storage since that time.
It is a heavy-duty tool – the stand is made of heavy iron material – not sheet metal.
The entire assembly weighs well over 100 lbs - maybe 200.
The rollers work well.
It is easy for one person to move the tool on a level floor.
It is powered by a 115V 1 HP General Electric motor which can draw up to 12 A.
So the max power is (V*A = 1380 W)
I don’t know the vintage of the tool – it was used in my family workshop in the 60s-70s and was not new at that time.
From the 50s or earlier I would guess.
It is for LOCAL PICKUP only due to the weight.
It will require a truck or van, and a ramp to roll it on.
CONDITION:
USED CONDITION – Sold as Is
So far as I know it is in working condition.
I last used it in the mid-70s when it ran well.
As I recall the blades had been recently sharpened before that use.
