Attention DEC aficionados – Here is something you don’t see every day! An authentic
DEC H4000-T Ethernet Transceiver Tester
. This device was used by network installers to verify that H4000 (or similar) transceivers were properly connected to old-fashioned 10Mbps baseband thick wire Ethernet cable using the infamous vampire taps. The tester has an integrated AUI cable with connector for attaching to a transceiver and includes the original users guide. Looks like this unit has seen many job sites and is a little beat-up and scratched as can be seen in the pictures. The tester has been stored in my climate-controlled basement for decades, but I do not know if it works.
